The challenge
Sandwaves up to 2.5 m high had to be cleared in up to 35 m of water to give access for burial of the Norther inter-array cables, in very dense silty sand to clay.
Our solution
The TRS2 mobilised aboard the Topaz Tangaroa, chosen to maximise productivity and reduce overall project cost in challenging soils.
The result
All targeted sandwaves cleared at an average excavation rate of 3 metres per minute.
