The challenge
Trenching of two omega joints on the east and west HVAC cables, plus two 800 m sections from the offshore substation, in heavy sands with shell fragments.
Our solution
The TRS1 was deployed from a 15 Te A-frame and oriented perpendicular to focus CFE jets either side of the cable, at 2–3 m/min vessel speed.
The result
1.8 m depth of burial achieved as per contract, with no recorded delays or incidents.
Next project
Sandwave clearance, Belgian North Sea
